Daikin is supporting regionals standards and labelling that guide customers to choose an energy efficient air conditioner. Daikin recognises that only selection of appropriate refrigerants with a low global warming potential for each application will not mitigate environmental impacts of air conditioners. It is important to manage refrigerant throughout its lifecycle. In 2019 Daikin established a refrigerant reclamation facility in Europe and proposed circular refrigerant ecosystem. As a result, new VRV Loop units for commercial buildings were launched that utilize reclaimed refrigerant and helped to comply with European F-gas regulations. The company continues to expand its developments and solutions in leakage preventions, recovery, reclamation, and destruction.

6. Aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050

Daikin has formulated Environmental Vision 2050 in accordance with Paris Agreement adopted in 2015. It outlines strategies on how to achieve net zero emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of its products by 2050 and continue to be a solutions provider for arising problems such as indoor air quality, for instance.
